Winnipeg police have laid 45 charges against a teen they suspect is responsible for spray painting more than 100 graffiti tags in St. Boniface.

The tag reading “Carot” can be found throughout St. Boniface on businesses, homes and city infrastructure, police said. In April, officers began investigating the tags.

Friday police executed a search warrant and made an arrest in connection with the tags. Jovain Hildebrand, 19, was arrested in the 100 block of Aubert Street.

Hildebrand is now facing 43 counts of mischief under $5,000, one count of mischief over $5,000 and a possession of a controlled substance charge.

Police are asking anyone who has had their property tagged with “Carot,” “Urban Graff King,” or “UGF” to contact police at 986-2860.
