Winnipeg police are investigating a shooting incident that injured a teenage boy.

Around 7:40 p.m. on Dec. 11, officers were called to the 400 block of Maryland Street for a report of a shooting.

A gun had been fired, with a 15-year-old boy hit in the lower body, said police.

The victim fled the area and was later transported to hospital in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate.
