Two teenage suspects face multiple charges in connection with a violent carjacking and a series of collisions on the weekend. A 30-year-old male suspect has also been charged.

Around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old male in a vehicle was confronted by a group of suspects in the 400 block of Maryland Street. The suspects surrounded the vehicle, smashed a window, bear sprayed the victim and pulled him out of the car, said police. The victim was assaulted further before he was able to run off. The victim was treated in hospital for upper body injuries and has since been released.

The suspects took off in the car and hit a taxi cab and police car in the North End. The suspects also hit a bicyclist near Flora Avenue and Powers Street, said police. The cyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Another group of cyclists were targeted by the suspects in the vehicle, but no injuries were reported.

Officers pursued the vehicle in the North End, which sped off with "no regard for public safety," said police.

The suspects lost control of the vehicle near Pacific Avenue and Isabel Street and three people were taken into custody.

A 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male both face charges for robbery with a weapon. The 15-year-old has also been charged with flight from a police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and two counts of assault with a weapon.

On April 28, officers said a 30-year-old male was also arrested and faces multiple charges, including robbery with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
