A 32-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of William George Sumner.

Cameron Bounthieng Kinnavanthong was arrested on June 22 and also faces several firearms-related charges.

Police said the 27-year-old Sumner was shot repeatedly by an adult man in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue after a verbal dispute turned violent on June 18. Two days later, police were called after the male suspect pointed a gun at a driver after a dispute.

On Thursday, Gene Lester Joseph Malcolm,33, and Jonathan Erin Catcheway, 28, were also both charged with manslaughter in connection with Sumner’s murder.
