WINNIPEG -- Winnipeg police arrested three people in connection to a home invasion in Winnipeg’s North End on Wednesday.

Just before 7:40 a.m., officers went to a home in the 500 block of Stella Avenue for a report that a woman was robbed at gunpoint.

With the help of the tactical support team, officers were able to take three people into custody. Police also seized an imitation gun.

Police allege the suspects committed a home invasion in order to rob the residents of the house.

Mary Frances Chartrand, 38, and Nikki Anne Cooke, 31, have been charged with numerous offences, including armed robbery using a firearm, and assault with a weapon. A 27-year-old man is also facing charges. All three suspects are from Winnipeg.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

Chartrand and Cook are in custody and the 27-year-old man was released on an undertaking.
