RCMP continue to investigate how a teenage girl drove into a train in Western Manitoba.
Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Parkland RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to a collision between a car and train in Gilbert Plains.
Police believe a 17-year-old girl from the area was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound on Highway 274 (Cutforth Street) in town.
The car struck the side of a VIA Rail Passenger train near the engine.
Police say it’s a level crossing with signs and flashing lights.
The teen went to hospital with minor injuries.
She was the only person in the car. No one else was hurt.
