Police have charged a 58-year-old man with impaired driving causing death, after his pick-up truck crashed into a car just outside Swan River Thursday evening, killing two people and injuring another.
The crash happened at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday, on Hwy 10 about 2 km east of Swan River.
RCMP say a Dogde pick-up crossed the centre line of the highway striking the driver-side door of one car and then collided head-on with a Dodge Neon that was travelling behind the first car.
Two passengers in the Neon were killed. One was a 35-year-old woman and the other a 33-year-old man. Both were residents of Swan River.
The driver of the Neon was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the first car suffered no injuries.
The 58-year-old driver of the Dodge truck was treated and released.
He has been charged with impaired driving causing death.
The names of all involved have been withheld by police.
