Police have two suspects in custody after a robbery and assault that left a young man dead last month in Winnipeg.

Braden Bjornson was found badly beaten on June 29 in the 200 block of Machray Avenue and later died from his injuries.

Police said Bjornson and two suspects came into contact in the area of Machray Avenue and Charles Street and had a verbal dispute.

The suspects then struck Bjornson in the upper body with a metal object and robbed him of cash, said police.

The major crimes unit launched an investigation into Bjornson's killing.

Winnipeg police arrested Keagan Denzel Dick, 18, of Winnipeg on Magnus Avenue on July 12 and said he has been charged with manslaughter.

A 15-year-old male suspect was also arrested in a northern community on July 13 by RCMP and faces charges of manslaughter and breach of probation.
