The University of Manitoba has taken the 'all-nighter' and turning into an academic opportunity.

The university opened up the Elizabeth Dafoe Library for the Long Night Against Procrastination Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Librarians and writing tutors were available overnight for students facing deadlines.

The idea started at a German university a few years ago, but this is the first event of its kind in Manitoba.

Snacks were provided at midnight and draws were made through the night.
