Police probing suspicious death in northern B.C.

Mounties in northern B.C. say they’re investigating after a senior was found dead in a home earlier this week.

The Vanderhoof RCMP says a call for a wellness check sent them to the home in the 100 block of 5th Street Tuesday.

Upon arrival, police say they found a deceased 65-year-old man with physical injuries, which the detachment did not describe.

Authorities are treating the man’s death as suspicious and the region’s major crimes unit has taken over the case.

In a statement Wednesday, the RCMP said the investigation is “in its infancy” and provided no further details.

The detachment asked anyone with CCTV video between Jan. 10 and 14, or information about the incident, to call 250-567-2222.
