More than 100 Syrian refugees arrived in Winnipeg within the past week.

Most of the families started arriving on Dec. 28, said Welcome Place. Another family will arrive tomorrow, bringing the total to 133.

Staff have been working around the clock to help settle the newcomers, said Welcome Place. It's looking for donations to help the families.

Executive Director Rita Chahal said cash donations are best, because the organization can allocate them to where the need is most urgent.
