WINNIPEG -- The province confirmed three presumptive cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba on Thursday, and concerts, festivals and cultural events have been quick to respond.

Here is a list of Manitoba events, and how they’ve been impacted by the spread of the virus:

  • The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra told CTV News that its show Troupe Vertigo, which was set to run from March 13-15 has been cancelled. For those who had tickets to the show, they can exchange them for another concert for free, exchange for a voucher for a future concert at no cost, or donate their ticket back to the WSO for a charitable tax receipt. The WSO is also cancelling all shows until March 31, including performances at the Centennial Concert Hall.
  • Record Store Day, a world-wide event celebrating community record stores is rescheduling to Saturday, June 20.
  • The Winnipeg Art Gallery has announced it will temporarily close to the public, effective Saturday, March 14. This also includes all upcoming events and public programs at the gallery.
  • The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra's Cluster Golden Thread concert on March 24 has been cancelled. The MCO is looking at rescheduling the concert at a later date.
  • The Selkirk Friendship Centre has cancelled bingo on March 15.
  • The Manitoba Courts will be restricting access to the courthouse and circuit court locations for anyone who is not necessary to the court proceedings, effective Monday, March 16. As well, effective immediately, all trials scheduled to proceed by a judge and jury before June 30 will not proceed with a jury. The trial will proceed with a judge alone or be rescheduled to a later date. Jury selections will also be cancelled. Public tours, school tours, and mock trials will be postponed until further notice.
  • Starting on March 14, the Canadian Museum of Human Rights will close its doors to all visitors, until further notice. ERA Bistro and the Museum's Boutique will also be closed.
  • The Celtic Illusion show scheduled for March 14 at Burton Cummings Theatre has been postponed. The show is expected to be rescheduled and all tickets bought for the show will be honoured on the future date.
  • Landmark Cinemas isn't closing its doors but it is taking steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Each auditorium will have the maximum amount of guests cut in half and reserved seating has blocked every other seat to increase personal space. The company is also increasing cleaning measures and changing its refill policy, which will require a new bag or cup for each refill.
  • Cineplex said it is enhancing its protocols and it is reducing capacity at all theatres across the country. People will be able to choose where they want to sit so they can feel most comfortable and safe from a social-distancing perspective.
  • SkipTheDishes is taking additional precautions when delivering food. It is encouraging restaurants to seal all takeout bags. All cash order have been suspended and the company is implementing contactless delivery, which will give people the option to have their food left at their door.
  • Carbone restaurants are taking extra precautions to prevent COVID-19 from spreading. It has stopped the use of reusable items, increased sanitization and hand washing procedures, encouraged tap payment, and encouraged pre-ordering for the Fast Fired locations with the Fast Fired app.
  • Several events have been either postponed or cancelled at the Centennial Concert Hall. Alice Cooper's show on April 11, has been postponed along with for King & Country on March 18. MUSIQUE ET ARTS EN FÊTE, which is a school concert has been cancelled for March 17. The Luminous CD release party on March 27 has been postponed and the L.A. Dance Academy has been postponed until April 25, from March 14.
  • The Manitoba Museum has announced it will be closed starting on March 14, until further notice.
  • The Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface is changing some protocols at mass. The sign of peace hand shake is now being substituted with a bow. Communion from the chalice is being stopped and the preferred method is to receive communion on the hand. Holy water fonts will be sanitized and left empty. The Archdiocese said if people are feeling ill they should not attend Sunday Liturgy.
  • The Riverwood Church will be suspending all programming on the weekend from March 13-15.
  • The Brandon Jazz Festival announced that this year’s event has been cancelled, saying the “health and well being of the students and teachers is our main concern and with the rapidly changing situation with the coronavirus we felt it was best to take a precautionary approach and cancel the festival;”
  • Celine Dion announced in a statement on her Twitter that the Winnipeg concert, along with 13 other Courage World Tour dates, has been postponed;
  • Disney on Ice announced on Thursday it has cancelled Mickey’s Search Party, which was set to take place at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg on March 13-15;
  • The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra is moving the date of 'Respect - The Music of Aretha Franklin' from March 15 to June 28 and 29 at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights;
  • The 2020 Skate Manitoba Crocus Invitational Synchronized Skating Competition that was set to take place March 14 in Roblin, Man., has been cancelled;
  • The Manitoba NDP has postponed its policy convention, which was set to take place in April; 
  • The Winnipeg Folk Festival said it’s planning for the 2020 Folk Festival. It said all tickets are final sale except in the situation of a full event cancellation. The festival takes place July 9 to 12 at Birds Hill Provincial Park;
  • The 2020 Royal Manitoba Winter Fair in Brandon, Man., has been cancelled. The event was set to run from March 30, to Apr. 4;
  • Cabaret Night at the Caboto Centre with Julie Biggs which was scheduled for Friday night has been postponed;
  • The Baby Shark Live! North America tour has been postponed. The show was set to stop in Winnipeg at Bell MTS Place on June 20, 2020. It will be rescheduled for a later date which has yet to be announced;
  • Rage Against the Machine posted on their Instagram Friday saying the first part of their tour is being postponed. The tour was going to run from March 26 to May 20, with a stop in Winnipeg on May 7. The band said all previously purchased tickets will be honoured when new shows are scheduled. The July and August part of their tour is still on;
  • All Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association and Manitoba Soccer Association events have been postponed until further notice. The WYSA office will be closed from March 16 – 20;
  • Ikwe Safe Rides said during the outbreak, it will have limited volunteer drivers available, and will not be able to answer all requests. It said anyone feeling sick should not use its service, and for those feeling well, it asks that you wash your hands just before your ride;
  • The Bear Clan Patrol is taking precautionary measures by postponing youth patrols. It is also advising anyone aged 55 and older not to patrol, as well as any members who are sick should stay home.
