Winnipeg crews respond to Young Street Fire

Share

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews were called to a house fire in the 400 block of Young Street this morning at 6:30 a.m.

Images from the scene show multiple firefighters battling hotspots at a fire-damaged home.

An aerial ladder was used to battle the blaze as it was unsafe to enter the home. Firefighters also worked to protect a neighbouring home from exposure.

The fire was extinguished by 10:30 a.m.

The home was vacant and boarded up at the time and was damaged by a fire in May 2021.

The fire caused significant smoke, water and fire damage and emergency demolition was ordered.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
