Winnipeg home named best decorated in their neighbourhood

A Winnipeg couple officially has the best-decorated home in Linden Woods.

Bill and Karen Burrington’s house on Shorecrest Drive was named the best decorated by the Linden Woods Community Centre. It is the third time the couple has won the award.

“It's nice to get recognized for doing all the work and having the lights lit up for the season, because people really enjoy it,” Karen said.

The display includes a giant Santa bear, an electronic Christmas tree, and a light show set to music.

The Burrington’s add more and more items to the display each year, and it takes hundreds of hours to set up, which they do by themselves.

The family said they are happy to see how Winnipeggers enjoy the lights.

“It’s a treat to see people come here, dance in the driveway, take pictures with the giant bear,” Karen said.

The tree is made from aluminium and is easier to move, and Bill, a retired electrical engineer, helps set up the light show.

However, if you want to see the display this year, you’re running out of time. The light display will be taken down this weekend.
