WINNIPEG -- Winnipeg police are investigating after receiving reports that a man had been assaulted early Monday morning.

Police were called to the 300 block of Ross Ave. in the city’s Centennial neighbourhood around 1:11 a.m. for reports of the incident and when officers arrived, they found a man who was suffering from serious injuries.

Police said he was taken to hospital in unstable condition and was later upgraded to stable condition.

Police said after finding the man, another injured man went to a home in the 600 block of McGee Street.

He was also taken to hospital where he was treated and released. Police have taken him into custody, along with a woman who is deemed a suspect.

The major crimes unit continues to investigate and if anyone has information, they are asked to call police at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
