Winnipeg School Division says it's exploring the idea of staggering start times for hundreds of students.
The school division says it could apply for as many as nine elementary schools. For now, the division says principals have just begun discussions with parents.
It means some students could start going to school as early as 8:15 a.m., while others would still start at 9:00 a.m.
The board says this could help save money. Further efficiency may be possible with transportation school bus pick-up times.
The Winnipeg School Division already has five schools with earlier start times.
The nine schools under consideration are:
- J.B. Mitchell School
- Brock-Corydon School
- Lord Roberts Community School
- George V School
- Greenway School
- Clifton School
- Victoria Albert School
- Shaughnessy Park School
- Prairie Rose Elementary School
