Winnipeggers will have the chance to share their condolences with the family of Jimmy Carter following the death of the former U.S. president on Sunday.

The U.S. Consulate of Winnipeg is inviting members of the public to sign a condolence book for the Carter family. The book will be available in the lobby at the consulate building at 201 Portage Ave. on Jan. 3 and Jan. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Carter passed away over the weekend at the age of 100.

Throughout his life, he visited Winnipeg on two occasions to take part in homebuilding projects for Habitat for Humanity.
