A 28-year-old woman has been charged with three counts of attempted murder in connection with a house fire on Magnus Avenue, said police.

Emergency crews responded to the house at around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers said there were seven people inside at the time of the fire and all escaped without injury.

Louise Joan Blyth was arrested on the scene and is now facing several charges including: arson- disregard for human life, arson- damage to property, possession of incendiary material and three counts of attempted murder.

Police said damage is estimated at $15,000.
