A woman found seriously injured at a Stella Avenue home on Saturday has died. Police are now investigating her death as a homicide.
Officers responded to a call about an assault in progress at the home in the 500 block of Stella Avenue around 5 a.m. on Saturday.
They found the victim, 39-year-old Mavis Ducharme, with serious injuries. Paramedics rushed her in critical condition to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The homicide unit continues to investigate and interviews are on-going. Officers were still on scene at the residence on Sunday.
An autopsy is pending.
