Two women are in police custody after a stabbing that took place at a party in the 200 block of King Edward St. at around 7:00 p.m. on March 23.

Police arrived at a residence on the scene and determined that two female suspects confronted a 21-year-old female victim while at the party.

They got into an argument, and the fight escalated until the victim was physically assaulted and then stabbed, say police.

A 35-year-old man attempted to intervene in the fight, and sustained a non-life-threatening injury as a result.

The two suspects then fled the residence in a vehicle.

Police located the suspects in a vehicle at around 7:10 p.m. in the area of Portage Ave. and Century St. They then took the two women into custody.

The 23-year-old woman and 24-year-old woman face a number of assault charges.

The investigation is continued by police.
