Councillors spent Wednesday debating another audit into how a major city project was mishandled.
Auditors KPMG answered several questions at city hall as to how the new police station went $75 million over budget.
The consultants told council there was a lack of consistent procurement policies and a lack of oversight that kept information from councillors.
KPMG said the fact only 30 per cent of the drawings were complete when a contract was signed impacted the final price tag.
It was a similar scene last week when councillors grilled auditors over the damning real estate audit.
The auditors also didn't let councillors off the hook.
They said too much power was given to the city's CAO by council to steer the project.
"I completely concur. Council has to stop delegating so much authority out," said Coun. John Orlikow (River Heights - Fort Garry).
Councillors Gerbasi and Havixbeck backed a motion calling on Manitoba Justice to review the audit. The motion was passed by council Wednesday afternoon.
Council had asked for a similar request for the real estate probe.
Finance chair Russ Wyatt is calling for a provincial inquiry into both reviews, as well as last year's fire hall audit.
The Selinger government said Manitoba Justice will scan the audits and determine a course of action, once the reviews are complete.
The auditors told council they found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
