The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is temporarily closing for its annual maintenance week.

The museum will be closed starting Sunday, Jan. 12th while staff inspect artifacts and clean exhibits throughout the space. THE CMHR will reopen to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 21st.

During the closure, museum staff will put the finishing touches on an upcoming exhibit titled “Love in Dangerous Time: Canada’s LGBT Purge”. The exhibit delves into the decades-long expulsion of LGBTQ people from the Armed Forces, RCMP, and federal public service.

“Love in Dangerous Time: Canada’s LGBT Purge” opens on January 31st.
