Mourners gathered in Memorial Park Thursday night to remember a woman whose life was cut short.
Family and friends of Tanya Nepinak held a candlelight vigil in the park, sharing their memories of the 31-year-old woman and her life.
Nepinak was last seen alive about a year ago. Police believe she was killed and her body dumped in a West End dumpster.
Shawn Lamb has been charged with Nepinak’s murder and the murder of two other women.
“My mother said that I have to forgive in order for my dear sister to rest in peace,” said her sister, Gail Nepinak. “God will do justice for us.”
Nepinak’s body has not yet been recovered by police. A large search party is being prepared to comb through the Brady Road Landfill to recover her remains.
