What happened to the mild spring conditions we've been enjoying lately? Well, that low pressure system that's been spreading rain, freezing rain and snow across nothern Manitoba is the culprit for today's cool conditions in the south.
This evening, don't be surprised by a shower or two to start. But clouds in Winnipeg will start to part later tonight.
But many other regions outside of Winnipeg could get frost tonight. The area at greatest risk is the west-central part of the province. The Pas region is under a frost advisory. But there is a risk of it occurring in many other places, too. This is thanks to an incoming high pressure ridge that will clear out the sky, along with light winds and temperatures close to freezing.
Frost could damage crops.
One more cool day ahead in Winnipeg on Friday, although some sunshine will return. Sunshine continues throughout the weekend before the heat kicks in next week with hot highs in the upper 20s.
