Watch out for reduced visibility and slippery roads, sidewalks and highways in Winnipeg and around southeastern and south-central Manitoba today. Snow overnight turned to light freezing drizzle this morning. That, along with temperatures rising to 0C, made for a slippery morning commute.
This afternoon, light freezing drizzle, fog and mist continue as temperatures start to slip back below freezing.
The northeast got more snow out of this same system than here in the south. It will end over the course of the afternoon, starting in Thompson then later in Gillam. The stretch between the two communities should end up with the most total snowfall, likely in the 5-10 cm range.
Meanwhile, parts of the southwest including Brandon will get some sunshine this afternoon with temperatures sticking below freezing.
By Wednesday, Winnipeg can look forward to some sunshine returning with mild temperatures. The next possibility of snow in the city is on Thursday.
