The Super 8 Motel on Niakwa Road East is putting a positive spin on a difficult experience.
The motel burned down in September 2015 and is currently being reconstructed.
The sign out front of the Super 8 Winnipeg East now reads, “There was a spider…it’s all ok now.”
“This business is all about fun and making it a great guest experience for everyone, staff included,” says motel owner Justin Schinkel.
Schinkel says staff came up with the sign.
“We just want to make sure we can share the fun with everybody in the neighbourhood,” Schinkel says.
The fire was sparked in the attic during construction last fall.
Management says the Super 8 is expected to reopen this winter. Schinkel says it will be, ‘bigger and better.’
