16-year-old boy found with machete: Police

A 16-year-old boy is in custody after police said they found him with a machete.

According to police, around 3:23 a.m. Thursday, officers were in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue when they said they saw a male youth that was “known to them.”

When he saw the officers, police said the teenaged boy ran off, prompting a foot pursuit.

Police arrested the boy and said they located a machete in his possession.

The teenager was charged with possessing and carrying a concealed weapon, as well as three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
