The arson unit is now investigating a house fire in Winnipeg's core area that injured one person Monday night.
The fire started after 10:30 p.m. in a three-storey rooming house in the 300 block of Elgin Avenue.
Heavy smoke poured from a second floor window and the wall around it was charred.
The fire department had extended ladder to a third-floor window.
One person required medical treatment at the scene. Their condition is unknown at this time.
An unknown number of people in the building made it outside. A bus was brought in to keep residents warm.
Damages are unknown at this time. Police say the cause is suspicious. The arson unit continues to investigate.
