Downtown Winnipeg’s food truck scene just got a little creamier, as one of the city’s oldest ice cream shops is taking it to the streets.
Bridge Drive-In officially launched its mobile ice cream truck called the Good To Go. The truck was launched over the weekend in honour of the popular treat’s 59th anniversary.
Owner Jessica Jacob said they are serving all the BDI classics, including some new flavours.
On Tuesday, the truck was parked in the heart of downtown, on Smith Street near the Graham Avenue intersection.
“We though this is kind of a central location, downtown next to a lot of offices and buildings,” Jacob said.
She added that they did their first round of scoops in the truth Saturday in downtown Winnipeg and Sunday in East St. Paul.
So far the lines have been long, Jacob said, and they see them growing as word that they are out on the road spreads.
