With the Manitoba Floodway gates activated, the City of Winnipeg’s main flood control tool is now operational.
But the city says seven low-lying properties in south Winnipeg will require small sandbag dikes. The city says people have been notified and it's delivering 6,500 sandbags to those properties.
As the river rises, 11 more properties are on standby.
City officials were recruiting volunteers to help with sandbagging efforts on Monday.
