Dangerous road conditions, snowy weather forces Manitoba school closures, bus cancellations

Dangerous driving conditions and snowy morning weather have forced the cancellation of some Manitoba schools and bus routes on Thursday.

The following schools are closed, and buses are cancelled for Dec. 19, 2024:

  • Brandon School Division – Buses will not be running outside the city, but will be operating within Brandon. Alexander, O’Kelly and Spring Valley schools are closed. All other schools are open. Attendance at school is at parental discretion where travel is required.
  • Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine -- École Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, École La Source, and Gilbert-Rosset are closed.
  • Fort La Bosse School Division – Schools are closed and buses are cancelled for entire school division.
  • Garden Valley School Division – All schools closed, and bus routes cancelled.
  • Prairie Rose School Division – Region A schools are closed. This includes Region A community schools and Region A Hutterian Colony School sites.
  • Rolling River School Division – Buses are cancelled.
  • Southwest Horizon School Division – All schools are closed. Staff should work from home.
  • Turtle Mountain School Division – Schools are closed, and buses are cancelled.
