Classes will resume Thursday after multiple Thompson schools were threatened and the local high school evacuated.

RCMP told CTV News the Thompson detachment received a report of a bomb threat at around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. The threat, made by email to R.D. Parker Collegiate, said multiple bombs were placed around multiple schools.

The School District of Mystery Lake said in a social media post Wednesday that R.D. Parker was evacuated, and those at the elementary schools were told to stay home in the afternoon.

RCMP said eight schools were searched, and there is no need for further concern as it was a hoax. RCMP continues to investigate.

The school district said all schools will be back in session Thursday.
