A doctor has been convicted of sexually assaulting a fifteen-year-old patient at the Children's Hospital in Winnipeg in 2009.
Dr. Walid Abdelhamid is slated to be sentenced at the end of July.
A judge ruled that she found the victim in the case to be a credible witness.
She believed he was telling the truth when he testified about what happened to him as he lay injured in a hospital bed.
Abdelhamid fled the country after being released on bail from the remand centre in 2009.
He was later apprehended and returned to Canada from Greece.
