Hydro says Ness Ave. gas leak caused by contractor hitting line

Winnipeg police closed a stretch a Ness Avenue Wednesday morning while crews responded to a gas leak.

Officers closed off Ness near Route 90. Police and fire crews responded around 9:30 a.m.

Ness was closed for several hours while Manitoba Hydro crews tackled the leak.

Manitoba Hydro said a contractor hit an underground natural gas line, causing the leak.
