Fans of the Winnipeg Jets can start preparing for next season as the team's 2022-23 schedule was released Wednesday.

The team will open up their season on home ice against the New York Rangers. That will be followed by a three-game road trip against the Dallas Stars, the Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche, and the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Jets' first chance to welcome the new champion Avalanche into Winnipeg will be on Nov. 30.

Fans can also mark the return of Paul Maurice on their calendars. The new head coach of the Florida Panthers will be arriving on Dec. 6, four days after former Jet Patrik Laine and the Columbus Blue Jackets pay a visit.

The longest homestand of the year will run from March 31 to April 10, while the longest road trip is from Jan. 17 to 24. Both span a total of five games.

Looking at when other Canadian teams will visit Canada Life Centre, it starts with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 22 followed by the Montreal Canadiens on Nov. 3.

The Ottawa Senators will be in town on Dec. 20 and then the Vancouver Canucks on Dec. 29 and Jan. 8.

Like the Canucks, the Calgary Flames will also be visitors twice in Winnipeg, first on Jan. 3 and then near the end of the season on April 5.

The Edmonton Oilers will only appear one time in Manitoba, on March 4.

The season will end on the road for Winnipeg, with a pair of games against Central Division rivals, the Minnesota Wild on April 11 and the Avalanche on April 13.
