A 72-year-old man is dead after the lawn mower he was on caught fire Wednesday.

Crews responded to the scene in Municipality of Harrison Park, about 270 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner said the vehicle caught on fire and they are unsure how.

“It’s a bit of a tragic story,” said the OFC official. “It’s an accidental fire.”

The OFC said the investigation has concluded, and there are no more details at this time.
