Mayoral candidate Gord Steeves says, if elected, he wants to sell four city-owned golf courses to fix Winnipeg's crumbling roads.

Steeves said the sale of John Bloomberg, Crescent Drive, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park would net $100 million.

Steeves said the majority of the property would be used for residential developments with some commercial use. Property taxes from the developments would be used for fixing streets too.

The plan would save 60 acres for free public green space.

To sell the courses, a two thirds majority vote on council is required.
