Two Manitoba sheriff’s officers have been charged with three counts of sexual assault going back as far as 2010.

Police said two women came forward separately in February with allegations that they had been sexually assaulted.

Police said the first victim, a 21-year-old woman, had been at a downtown bar when she met a man and woman who offered to give her a ride home. Instead of taking her home, however, police said the pair drove the woman to a residence in the northeast part of the city where she was assaulted.

Police said the second victim, a 30-year-old woman, reported that between April 1 and 30 she was at a residence in the northeast part of the city where she was sexually assaulted by a male and female acquaintance. Between July 1 and August 31, police said the woman was again at the residence where she was given a drug and then sexually assaulted again.

Both suspects were arrested on May 17.

Richard Robert Charles Gordon, 46, is charged with three counts of sexual assault, assault, administering a noxious thing with intent to endanger life or cause bodily harm, and overcoming resistance to commit an indictable offence.

Jackie Erin Burgoyne, 35, is charged with three counts of sexual assault and assault.

The couple was charged with similar offences in February of this year and in October 2012.
