The board of the North Winnipeg Nomads football organization has banned the entire coaching staff of a midget league team.

The board met Monday to discuss an incident where a player pushed a referee during a game Friday between the North Winnipeg Nomads and the Greendell Falcons.

The board's president Jeffrey Bannon called the incident the tip of the icberg, saying they have been having issues with the coaching staff all season. Bannon added the culture and teaching style of the coaching staff were not on par with the Nomad's philosophy of respect.

The Midget Football League of Manitoba has already suspended the Nomads player for the remainder of the season.

Football Manitoba has barred him from all football-related activities in Manitoba pending a review.

“This is extremely serious to us. It is very disappointing and embarassing. This is not what the Nomads organization is all about,” Bannon said.

The board plans to meet Tuesday evening to discuss the fate of the team. Bannon said they either have to find replacement coaching staff or the team with forfeit the season.
