The Winnipeg Parking Authority is reviewing its loading zone and residential parking permit programs.
During the month of June the parking authority wants to hear from residents to see if any improvements can be made.
Colin Stewart, a policy analyst with the Parking Authority, said the programs have never been evaluated, so they are doing it now to see if the current program is working.
"We often we hear the complaint about downtown in particular, that there are too many loading zones, and that people wish they could just find somewhere to park their car without having to dodge around all these loading zones," he added.
Stewart explained he would like to hear from residents and business owners to get both perspectives on parking issues.
Parking Authority does get feedback already about the number of loading zones in the downtown core, as well as neighbourhoods with one venue that may cause residential parking to be tied up for long periods of time.
"We'll take it all and in conjunction with what's done in other cities, we'll find what works for Winnipeggers. We may make no changes at all," Stewart said.
