RCMP say they do not suspect foul play after the body of a missing senior was found just northwest of Winnipeg Thursday evening.
The Winnipeg Police Service confirmed RCMP found a body, identified as William Knowles.
WPS reported the 65-year-old missing earlier in the day, along with his Jeep Cherokee. He was last seen Wednesday evening in the North End.
They have notified next of kin and said the family has requested privacy.
Earlier in the day, Knowles’ daughter had told CTV News it was not normal for her father to disappear. She said he enjoyed going to Lockport and on bike rides to Kildonan Park. She said her mother had come home to find he wasn’t in the house and the family didn’t know where he went.
As the body was found in RCMP jurisdiction, the RCMP are taking lead agency in the investigation.
Police say they will not be releasing any further details about the circumstances of Knowles' death.
