The new Winnipeg Police Service helicopter is now patrolling from above the city.
Officials unveiled the new helicopter back in December. After that, staff underwent training for the aircraft, before it officially was put to work.
Police chief Keith McCaskill said the helicopter will be in operation as much as possible.
He also said the helicopter will be available this spring if the city and province need assistance, once the flood-fight ramps up.
