A section of Nairn Avenue closed Thursday afternoon due to a police investigation.

Winnipeg police tweeted about a street closure between Stadacona and Watt Street, which backed up traffic in the area.

Officers asked residents to avoid the area and try to find a different route.

Just before 6 p.m. the city's Transportation Managament Centre tweeted that emergency vehicles had cleared and the westbound Nairn Avenue overpass near Watt Street was open for traffic in all lanes.
