Winnipeg police said they’ve tracked down a man suspected of threatening a blind man and his guide dog on a Winnipeg Transit bus.

Police released photos of the suspect earlier this week after a 41-year-old blind man reported being threatened.

He was walking near a Portage Avenue bus stop in September when a stranger began distracting his guide dog. He asked the man to stop, but instead the suspect followed him on the bus and threatened to hurt him, according to police. A number of passengers tried to intervene to no avail.

Police said they have now identified a suspect and the file has been passed on to the Crown.

The victim and the police thanked the public for their help locating the suspect.
