Elections Canada has announced a judicial recount will be held for results from the Winnipeg North riding, following the federal election on May 2.

Incumbent Kevin Lamoureux of the Liberals won the seat by only 45 votes over the NDP's Rebecca Blaikie.

Elections Canada said the recount will be carried out by a judge of the Court of Queen's Bench of Manitoba. That is set to begin on May 16.

When the recount is completed, results will be published on Elections Canada's website at: www.elections.ca

There's no word yet on when the recount will wrap up.
