The Red River is on the rise and, as predicted, it has now covered the walkway at The Forks.

The river has been rising a few feet every day since the warmer temperatures arrived.

Officials have shut down several highways in the St. Laurent area due to overland flooding.

Flood officials in the U.S. have downgraded the flood threat for Fargo, saying the Red is expected to crest on Wednesday at around 37 feet (11.3 m), which is 19 feet (5.8 m) above the point where the Red River spills its banks.

The river was measured at 29 feet (8.8 m), which is one foot (30.5 cm) below a major flood stage.
