The president of Red River College is out.
Red River College's board of governors said in a statement that Stephanie Forsyth is leaving for "personal and family reasons." The board says, "[Forsyth's] departure occurred through a mutual agreement with her and the Board of Governors."
She was the subject of a provincial investigation launched earlier this year into financial and human resource irregularities.
Forsyth came under fire for expensing items such as golf shoes, her driver's licence and ballet tickets in 2011.
The college was also facing a $2-million shortfall in the spring and had reportedly lost a number of senior officials.
"The Board wishes to express its appreciation to Ms. Forsyth for her work on behalf of the College," it said in a release. "The search for a new President has already begun and the Board is satisfied that there will be a variety of well-qualified candidates seeking this position. An announcement will be made as soon as the new President has been appointed. In the interim, the Board has appointed David Rew as the Acting President of the College."
