Habitat for Humanity opened its second ReStore location in Winnipeg on Ellice Avenue in the West End.
It's a not-for-profit home improvement store that sells affordable new and gently-used furniture, appliances, and building materials.
The ReStore proceeds go towards Habitat's overhead costs. It also keeps a lot out of the landfill.
“I think the ReStore helps the working poor to get housing. It’s not a gift, it’s a helping hand,” said Ray Bailey, former chair of the ReStore committee.
Habitat for Humanity says there are 91 ReStores in Canada and over 1,000 in North America, Europe and the United States.
