Sheila North Wilson
RTNDA award winner and Gemini nominee Sheila North Wilson joined CTV Winnipeg in December 2013.
Previously she was Chief Communications Officer for the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs where her primary role was to work with Grand Chief Derek Nepinak and other First Nations leaders in Manitoba, building bridges of understanding between First Nations, non-First Nations people and the media.
Part of her duties also involved working with an issue close to her heart: raising awareness on the national tragedy of missing and murdered Indigenous women. Sheila worked closely with families, friends and First Nations leaders touched by the issue.
Sheila's past experiences include work as a journalist for CBC, as an entrepreneur, a Cree translator and a radio personality. She grew up in the isolated community of Bunibonibee Cree Nation (Oxford House), has two children, is married and lives in Winnipeg.
Sheila is currently on leave from CTV.
