A similar day today as yesterday in southern Manitoba with daytime highs a few degrees below normal for late February.
High pressure is keeping the sky clearer on the eastern side of the province than the west where it is much cloudier. Winnipeg is benefiting from the sunshine.
On Thursday, a relatively minor disturbance will spread up to a couple of centimetres of snow in southern Manitoba. Winnipeg could see a few flurries.
A more potent system will follow behind it on Friday and Saturday. It looks like it will take a more northern track that should miss the city, but could spread up to 5 cm across central areas of the province.
Meanwhile, the transition from February to March this weekend will be very mild in Winnipeg. Daytime highs are still on track to climb up above freezing.
